Happy day, friend! Today I'm re-sharing an older project - this Lane cedar chest I scouted out at Goodwill awhile ago. It's actually a pretty funny story of how I found it and brought it home, and you can read the whole story here. To paint a cedar chest, you need to start by sanding the wood. Then you need to apply primer and stain blocker. You can paint the chest with either latex or chalk paint. If necessary, use multiple paint coats, but make sure you let the paint dry for 72 hours before using the chest. Painting a cedar chest is not really a nut job.
